The goal of the project DONAUHANSE is to establish a network of cities, which provides sound solutions to similar problems with the greatest possible benefit for all participating cities and regions along the Danube.

Aims of the DonauHanse Network of Danube Cities

The aim of the network defined in 2007 is to establish DonauHanse as a sustainable engine for economic, touristic, infrastructural and cultural cooperation in Europe and beyond the current borders of the European Union.

  • Promotion of further project ideas to sustainably increase freight volumes on the Danube;
  • Develop and realise project ideas created by the members of DonauHanse;
  • Implementation of CUPA (Co-operative Urban Planning Approaches);
